Why we love it
Mother Nature is allowed full reign across the 36,000 hectares of nature reserve that make up private Moyo Island, in the coral-rich Flores Sea. Here in this wildlife lover’s paradise, Amanwana has set up camp, with 20 safari tents amid the rainforest or on the shore. Low-impact and eco-friendly, the tents are nonetheless equipped with hardwood floors and
soaring, air-conditioned canopies sheltering sumptuous daybeds, ensuite bathrooms and net-draped kingsize beds. Visits from friendly macaques and inquisitive deer are not uncommon, and hint at the abundance of nature to be found further inland, or out to sea.
Both snorkellers and scuba divers will be mesmerised as the dive team ensures close encounters with sea turtles and moray eels.
Trek though the tropical forests to see natural wonders, with many paths leading to Barry's Falls at the heart of the island.
Hop in a jeep for an expedition deep into the jungle to the bat caves, to see thousands of bats hanging upside down.
Amanwara's private beaches allow water enthusiasts the choice to sail, kayak or paddle board in the Flores Sea, or just dip your toes in the water.
Choose from Amanwana's fleet of boats, including catamarans, skiffs, outriggers and speedboats for a midnight cruise under the starlit sky.
Join local experts to create an environment for coral to latch on to and grow, conserving the island's waters for future generations.
Join in the diving fun even if you have never taken your diving certificate, as you learn to dive with one of the resort's PADI instructors.
Observe the underwater marine life from a new perspective as you dive at night, with the microinteractions of the reef as the focus.

We had an incredible holiday. All arrangements went well and we have recommended True Travel to friends already. Como Ubud was incredible as were the staff, our room was also upgraded which was a treat. Madey is an incredible guide, we loved the volcanoes, monkey farm and rice terraces and it was such good value. From here we went to Komodo Dive Resort where the food was fantastic and diving team were great.
