Why we love it
La Residence D’Angkor is renowned for excellence among Siem Reap hotels, exquisitely capturing the rich and diverse history of Cambodia and combining it with the modern luxuries that make La Residence D’Angkor so exceptional. The traditional Khmer architecture was designed to mimic the beauty of the ancient temples just a stones throw away, such as Angkor Wat, Angkor Thom and Tonle Sap Lake. Guests can relax after a day of temple exploration at the idyllic pool or fitness centre, and once the sun goes down, vibrant markets, art galleries and the nightlife of Siem Reap are just moments away.
The towering palms and lotus ponds surrounding the idyllic property exude the tranquility of the countryside. As soon as you cross the moat, you enter the soul of the Angkor Era, or so it seems.
Belmond La Residence d’Angkor welcomes you with unerring grace and introduces you to old-world Cambodia through traditionally carved furnishings, Apsara figures, cathedral-high beamed lobby and exquisite suites arranged around a beautiful courtyard. The elegant teak and basalt accents featured throughout the hotel echo the ancient temples nearby, letting you know that you’ve reached the gateway to the ancient Khmer Empire.
Beyond its tribute to Cambodian spirituality are award-winning spa, refreshing saltwater swimming pool, specially curated library, high-end boutique, incredible dining venues and immersive amenities that offer every guest an experience to remember.
Rise with the sun to see the Angkor complex in the dawn's light, continuing onto Banteay Srei's pink sandstone temple, travelling through pretty local villages.
Witness the extent of Angkor's true beauty from the sky, flying high above the UNESCO site for incredible bird's eye views.
Cycle through Siem Reap's countryside, along the river and through charming villages, learning about local life and sampling snacks along the way.
After a trip to the market to buy fresh produce for your class, return with one of the hotel's chefs to cook your own lunch in the outdoor kitchen. /p>
Eat a delicious pre-circus meal, before watching the magic of the Phare circus - a modern circus using theatre, music and dance - followed by dessert.

I thought Cambodia was all about Angkor, but Katie told me about her recent trip, and before we knew it we were drinking cocktails in Phnom Penh at the Raffles bar, cruising down the Mekong, exploring lost jungle temples and then Six Senses Krabey was perfect for the end of the trip. Thank you again Katie, Molly and team TLT, that was one of the best!
