Why we love it
River Farmhouse is a private house belonging to Waterberry Lodge. The Farmhouse is 200m east of Waterberry Lodge, on the Zambezi riverbank and inside the Waterberry Conservation Area.
The house has been built with family holidays and groups of friends in mind, on the site of an old colonial farmhouse. Bedrooms are grouped around the central living room. The
huge shady terrace is perfect for outdoor living – with a dining table and comfortable alfresco furniture.
The Farmhouse comes fully staffed with a private chef. The gardens, swimming pool and boat are all for private use for the guests. The boat launches from the private jetty for sunset, dawn and daytime cruises and fishing trips.
Walk through the lush jungle on the Zambian side of the Victoria Falls for some incredible views of the cascades and rainbows, or walk down to the Boiling Pot.
In your choice of microlight or helicopter, experience a bird's eye view of this expansive natural wonder of Vic Falls, on what is known as the 'Flight of Angels'.
Fish in the fresh water of the Zambezi to try your hand at catching and releasing the infamous tigerfish and bream.
Float down the river for a few hours with prepared drinks and snacks, to enjoy the spectacular light show of the African sunset.
Test your wits and courage by plunging into nature's infinity pool to swim atop one of the greatest waterfalls in the world.
Paddle with a guide to some of the best spots to see game on the Zambezi, or simply enjoy canoeing down one of the life lines of Zambia.
Take a trip to the Livingstone Museum, or explore other historical sites to learn about the unique Zambian culture and history.

The team at True Travel had a simple brief: to send us on the world’s best family safari. As soon as our boat headed down the Zambezi, it all kicked off; we passed a herd of hippos, a lazy crocodile and a giraffe drinking nonchalantly on the riverbank. A magical experience from beginning to end. Nothing was too much trouble and if we had any issue that needed resolving, there was always someone on hand to do this. Before and after, they were off the charts – simply an awesome team.
