Occupying the prime position on the crater rim, Ngorongoro Crater Lodge offers magnificent views of the crater floor and is undoubtedly one of the most opulent lodges in Africa. The lodge combines architectural hints of traditional Maasai homesteads along with interior styles borrowed from European stately homes. The rooms are private and spread out on the grassland in front of the lodge. Meanwhile, the deep reds, chandeliers and free-standing baths make this lodge very different to anywhere else in northern Tanzania. The famous Ngorongoro Crater is a World Heritage Site situated at the eastern edge of the Serengeti in northern Tanzania. The crater is the largest unbroken ancient caldera in the world. Nearly three million years old, the once-volcanic Ngorongoro is now considered Africa’s Garden of Eden.
