Mkombe’s House Lamai

Ruaha

The only exclusive private safari house in the Serengeti, specifically designed with families or groups of friends in mind. Mkombe’s House offers complete flexibility on everything from activities to meals, allowing you to really enjoy the adventure of safari while calling the shots about how to go about it. Occupying its own private space and built around the rocks of the Kogakuria Kopje, Mkombe’s House was designed by Joanna Cooke who was also responsible for the award winning Lamai Serengeti. Beautifully styled along the same lines, the house has a fresh, contemporary feel. The house has two double/twin rooms, each with a verandah and en-suite bathroom. Each double room has an adjoining secure en-suite bedroom designed to sleep three children comfortably. Each day, meals are planned with the in-house chef, allowing for lots of flexibility and plenty of choice from aamenu loaded with fresh produce, home-baking and delicious flavours. With a private guide available to discuss activity options each day, it’s easy to plan your days around your children’s needs and therefore keep everybody in the family happy. There are a range of activities on offer, with game drives as the main focus, but it’s also possible to go out on walks, enjoy picnic breakfasts or lunches and sundowners on the rocks. Youngsters often enjoy clambering around on the rocks around the camps in search of lizards, hyrax and other harmless creatures. And then of course there’s the option of spending time in your own home in the bush, reading in a shady spot with a great view, or having the odd dip in the pool. It is a holiday after all.
