Why we love it
See the famous clay plan of Sossusvlei with its towering orange sand dunes, before moving onto Dead Vlei littered with the skeletons of trees.
See Sesriem Canyon, formed by millions of years of water carving through, for incredible views over Namibia and exciting walks down in the gorge.
Hop on a quad bike or be driven through the wilderness to spot wildlife, with the chance to see oryx, springbok and foxes.
Follow the trails to explore this remote area, stopping to inspect the insects, reptiles and rodents that live on the ground and can often be missed.
Walk along the Tsauchab River after dark, with fluorescent scorpions lighting your path, and the chance to see other nocturnal animals.
Fly above the reserve to appreciate the true extent of the desert as you soar above the orange dunes, and finish with a champagne breakfast.
Atilla
The journey to Namibia and Serra Cafema was the best trip I’ve ever done. I really loved the remote camp, the way we travelled there (flying over the endless dunes and amazing coastline in a private plane) and the infinite hospitality, knowledge and passion of the whole team. We enjoyed a lot of activities: we visited the Himba people, which was the experience of a lifetime, took a quad bike tour and boat tour. For my birthday, they organised a private dinner at a beautiful, remote location.
