Why we love it
Experience ordinary life on the island with a trip to the local market in the neighbouring village, before heading to a nearby school.
Take a day or night walk into the spiny forest, home to a variety of wildlife, with a stop at an ancient burial forest abundant in the famous ring-tailed lemurs.
Spend a morning walking in the wetland area, where frequent avian visitors include painted snipe, teal, and malachite kingfisher.
Drive into the baobab forest to watch the sun set over the trees with a refreshing gin and tonic in hand, for a beautiful end to the day.

It was fabulous. I was planning to write a message with detailed feedback. It’s a unique place and provided a very special experience for the both of us. The holiday was fantastic and Madagascar is a very special country. Masoala was maybe one of my favourite experiences ever. The lodge and the setting are beautiful, the activities on point.
