Each of the properties comes with personal staff for cooking, cleaning, laundry, and they are there to ensure your stay is as relaxing as possible. The hotel has a rich heritage and still tries to live by its original ethos. The hotel is passionate about recycling and sustainable use of resources, with many of the doors and windows being recycled from demolished buildings, furniture being recycled or made from reclaimed material. The hotel lives as part of nature’s cycle and does not water the gardens or waste water during the dry season. Nature’s gifts are utilised, for example, the stunning lagoon in front of the hotel is treated as a natural spa and therefore they see no need for a swimming pool.

I went on an adventure of a lifetime to Kenya, planned by True Travel. Borana was the perfect introduction to Africa – the staff were fantastic, the lodge very comfortable and I had amazing wildlife sightings. Then the helicopter flight and night out with Andrew (the real Crocodile Dundee) was an experience of a lifetime; we went scorpion hunting, crocodile catching, swimming in lakes and flew over flamingos. All in all, everything was fantastically planned and the service was brilliant. I’m looking forward to the next adventure!
