Angama Mara

An extraordinary new safari lodge balanced on the edge of Africa’s Great Rift Valley, where the sky melts into the endless plains in a panorama so wide it takes your breath away. Where the romance of canvas combines with dramatic guest areas, this is a fresh approach to safari lodge design. This beautiful piece of land overlooks what many safari travellers consider the loveliest game reserve on the continent, Kenya’s Maasai Maras. Guests are accommodated in spacious Tented Suites, which have been designed for guests comfort and are reminiscent of a classical African safari, each with a view more lovely than the last. Every detail has been considered; end-to-end glass frontage, sweeping canvas, decks overhanging the Mara, and inside polished parquet floors and just the right amount of furniture.The lodge consists of two totally separate and intimate camps, each with a guest area sitting atop one of the kopjes. Inspired by the old-world atmosphere of Nairobi’s famous Muthaiga Club, guests can dine, read, relax, and enjoy a drink in a place where indoors and outdoors merge into one, all the while enjoying the view below. The architecture is filled with drama, and the red brickwork is inspired by local Maasai technique.
