Acacia House and Mara House offer some of Africa’s finest family living. The private houses are fully catered and guided by some of the very best in Africa to make this a unique experience.
Acacia House (Sleeps 6)
The living spaces dominate Acacia House beginning with a large, open-air veranda looking out over the famous Ol Chorro waterhole. This leads into an open-plan dining and seating area complete with log fire for those cooler nights in the bush. Beyond are two spacious double en-suite bedrooms and a third attic room, created specifically for younger guests. Acacia House comes with a full complement of well-trained and experienced staff at guests’ disposal to ensure all you have to do is enjoy the space and setting. To the side of the house, raised above the waterhole, there is a pool and a barbecue area which provide a place to relax, dine and socialise between safari expeditions, particularly around sunset. This pool is shared with nearby Mara House.
Mara House (Sleeps 6)
Located in the same valley as Acacia House this three bedroom
bush home is once again designed to suit a couple, small group or family on safari. The three double rooms are all en-suite and spacious living areas mean the group staying here have plenty of indoor as well as outdoor space. Your private team will prepare all meals to the usual high standard and will cater for bush picnics or lunches under the acacia trees by the pool.
Mara House comes with a full complement of well-trained and experienced staff at guests disposal including a chef, wildlife guide and house manager to ensure a seamlessly-run safari experience which delivers the very best the Mara has to offer. It is an opportunity to explore this wilderness from a private bush home in the company of your personal Maasai guide on your own terms.
A fully qualified guide and vehicle will be on hand to assist with a wide range of safari activities which include walking, day or night game drives and visits to local villages and trading centres. Game viewing is done primarily in the conservancies of Mara North, Ol Chorro and Lemek – an area of about 100,000 acres. Trips into the Mara Game Reserve can be undertaken should guests wish to do so (entrance fees extra).
Let your guide take you out into the plains to watch incredible wildlife at play, such as herds of elephants drinking around the waterhole.
Explore and learn about the bush on foot for the best and most immersive safari experience, as you walk in the footsteps of wildlife.
Learn about the Maasai tribe who have guarded over the Mara for years by spending time in their homes and seeing their villages.
Fall in love with the Mara as you soar above the game-filled plains and explore Kenya's wilderness from the skies on an early morning balloon safari.

I went on an adventure of a lifetime to Kenya, planned by True Travel. Borana was the perfect introduction to Africa – the staff were fantastic, the lodge very comfortable and I had amazing wildlife sightings. Then the helicopter flight and night out with Andrew (the real Crocodile Dundee) was an experience of a lifetime; we went scorpion hunting, crocodile catching, swimming in lakes and flew over flamingos. All in all, everything was fantastically planned and the service was brilliant. I’m looking forward to the next adventure!
