Nestled away on the western side of Chobe and separated from Namibia by the Linyanti River, the Linyanti region is one of the most remote game viewing areas in Botswana and a haven for wildlife enthusiasts. Generally Linyanti is best in the April to November dry season as some roads and camps become inaccessible during the summer rains.Open grasslands, riverine forests and of course, the Linyanti River itself characterise the area and attract all manner of wildlife, including big cats, wild dog, elephant and buffalo as well as abundant birdlife thanks to the perennial waters of the river and lagoons.Despite its remote location Linyanti is home to some of the finest camps that Botswana has to offer and a visit here combines really well with time in the Okavango Delta and Victoria Falls, which can be easily accessed via flights to the region from Kasane. A truly wonderful area and one not to be missed.
