I had the privilege of growing up in a National Park in Tanzania where my family worked in wildlife conservation, environmental rehabilitation, community outreach programmes and endangered species programmes. Through my upbringing in Mkomazi National Park is where my passion for conservation, travel and exploration started. Being able to experience how travelling with a positive impact and being mindful of the world around us has created such a tangible difference for communities, cultures and conservation initiatives urged me to pursue a career in sustainable travel that acts as a force for good.
The thing I love most about working in the travel industry is how it pulls you out your comfort zone and plunges you into the unknown. Travel reveals a world of cultures to explore and people to meet – you’re constantly learning through travel and it really makes you appreciate the little things in life. Travel also gives us an appreciation, understanding and respect for different points of view and ways of life.
My ideal holiday would be a road trip with friends through the beautiful and myriad landscapes of Italy. From museums, concerts, sightseeing, one-of-a-kind hotels, the Italian cuisine and days at the beach – Italy stands as my ultimate destination of choice
Make a point of understanding the communities, cultures and environments that you will experience ahead of your trip. This will not only enable you to participate, engage and learn more, but it also allows you to travel with purpose and help leave behind better protected destinations for the communities that call it home.
